It’s no secret thatREMATCHpretty much looks like ifRocket Leagueactually went full-football, and it’s made for an exciting and promising-looking game that could bethe next AA breakout of the year.

10 Sports Game Hidden Gems

There are a variety of sports and sports-adjacent video games that could do with some extra attention.

But what if I told you that REMATCH also felt like a different type of game that you absolutely wouldn’t expect? I’m here to tell you that the game handles strangely, almost like athird-person shooter, too. Let me explain.

Dodgeball Academia Mutant Football League Windjammers 2 Regular Human Basketball

UnlikeEA Sports FC, REMATCH lets playerspreciselypinpoint exactly where they want to shoot the ball every single time they boot it. This is thanks to a crosshair/reticle-like aiming design that honestly controls like you’re aiming at a target inGears of WarorThe Last of Us.

This takes some getting used to, but it feels fluid and fun once you get the hang of it. Still, like most third-person games with precise aiming controls, you may want to tweak your settings to get things flowing as smoothly as possible.

Rematch Practice

REMATCH actually has four different camera sensitivity settings that I’ve experimented with, which do a great job of fine-tuning the experience exactly as you’ll want it. Let’s huddle up.

Best Camera Settings For Efficient Dribbling

While you’re running around the pitch, I recommend cranking up your sensitivity so you can always be positioned to quickly pan around to see all the fast-paced action unfolding.

REMATCH has two different camera settings for general running and movement with or without the ball. Here’s how I’d recommend you set both of these.

Rematch Camera Speed 1

Camera Speed For Controller

First up is Camera Speed For Controller, which is simply how quickly your camera pans as you run around the field. The default setting here (and for the other three camera settings) is a standard 1.I found that bumping this up to 1.5 gave me better personal results, feel, and control.

Walkabout Mini Golf and Gran Turismo 7 highlight the list of best sports video games on PS VR2.

The standard setting is fairly zippy already, but you’re going to be moving your cameranon-stopin REMATCH as you and your playmates launch the ball around faster than a pinball machine.

Your camera rotation will also inherently kind of dictate how quickly you’re able to process direction changes in your mind for your controlled player itself. 1.5 is a great sweet spot for enough control while having the extra speed to speedily keep up with everything around you.

Camera Speed Boost For Controller

Similarly titled but slightly different, Camera SpeedBoostFor Controller allows you to fine-tune general camera movement even more. Here, you may speed up or slow down the camera even further if you have the right stick fully angled in one specific direction.

Once again,I bumped this setting up to 1.5 as well.I experimented with a different number from the first camera setting, but found it too disorienting to have general camera movement options set at two different speeds.

Rematch Camera Speed 2

While I recommend keeping both of these settings at the same number wherever you end up, the next two settings below should be set to different numbers.

Best Camera Settings For Shooting

REMATCH has taken things one step further in settings customization by allowing you to also adjust your camera sensitivity when physically charging up a shot.

As you press and hold R2 to shoot, you still have a chance to aim your reticle as your player builds up a more powerful shot. You don’t simply shoot the ball as soon as the trigger is pulled. Take this time to refine your shot placement, aided by these additional settings.

Camera Aim Speed For Controller

First up is Camera Aim Speed For Controller, the third camera option in your settings. This sensitivity relates to your smaller shot aiming adjustments as you charge up a kick.

For me,lowering this setting below the standard setting of 1 benefited me greatly. After experimenting with several different numbers, I landed at 0.8.

My reasoning for this is that once you actually start aiming your shot, you want more control over every pixel you adjust the camera. For free movement, you want to be able to swing the camera around like crazy. The actual shot is a more delicate operation.

Slowing the camera down while aiming my shot made me more accurate, although the immediate reduction in speed once you start holding R2 will take some practice to get used to.

Camera Aim Speed Boost For Controller

I know what you’re thinking. “Yeah, I get wanting to be able to be more precise when actually aiming at the net, but what if I’m locked into a shot and my reticle isn’t actually aimed between the sticks?” That’s where Camera Aim SpeedBoostFor Controller comes into play.

Once again, this “boost” camera option is a separate speed for when you have the right stick fully tilted in one direction. This became my camera setting with the highest sensitivity number.I landed at 1.6 for this one.

While having mismatched settings numbers for general movement felt weird to me, I found it can be a game-changer for aiming your shot. The higher you can stomach this number being, the more drastically you can change your aim at the last millisecond if you’re still not going to hit the net with your crosshair.

The combination of slowly fine-tuning my shot aim with the standard aim speed, then quickly adjusting with the camera boost when needed, worked wonders for me.

Of course, some of this will come down to personal preference, so be sure to test things out for yourself as well. Still, I think the settings above will start you on the right foot. I’ll see you out on the pitch.
