Even thoughRed Dead Redemption 2was released six years ago, it still remains one of the best open-world games ever made. Among its sprawling Wild West environments and stellar characters, there are still a ton of elements and mysteries that players are only now finding out about.

But, if you were thinking of throwing Arthur off of a cliff again for funzies or allowing him to get hurt in any way, you might want to rethink your entire gameplay after you learn this heartbreaking part of his sensitive personality.

70-year-old YouTuber MojaveD is devastated after finding out Arthur won’t be around much longer.

One of Red Dead Redemption 2’s best features is how well it hones its characters by allowing them to have subtle, and sometimes not as subtle, complex and human emotions. This can especially be seen so well by the game’s protagonist,Arthur Morgan. He’s honorable, loyal, and cares deeply and if he gets hurt, he’s actually visibly upset.

LEGO Animation with Uncle and John Marston From Red Dead Redemption 2

Do you feel guilty now about all the times you got him shot, chucked him off a roof, watched his body tumble down a cliff, or killed his beloved horse? Well, you should be. As seen in this Twitter post by user@CoweyLoaf, they have only just discovered that Arthur visibly sheds a tear when he becomes injured, or he becomes emotionally affected by an event in his life. Granted, not many of us go and take a closer look at his face whenever something rough happens to poor Arthur, so it’s a detail that can be missed.

It just shows the level of work that Rockstar Games has put into this lovable rouge, even when they aren’t always outwardly noticed by players. I’m certain in another few years, there will be aspects regarding its characters and environments we still have to discover.

Even though Rockstar hasn’t released an update for RDR2 in a long time, this month players saw asurprise patch 1.32go live that included updated AMD FSR support. The patch also fixed Naturalist samples not being counted towards Daily Challenges, Free Roam Missions not launching, and players who got stuck when entering the stables.
