Horse-Faced Kannon is depicted with a horse’s head, sometimes accompanied by a human face as well, and is associated with the protection and guidance of animals, particularly horses. When Buddha summons their power, The Six Realms Staff again starts to glow with an ethereal golden light.
It now stands taller than Buddha himself. In his hands is an enormous spiked club with divine carvings at its lower bottom. The impact of the club releases a shockwave that cracks the very earth beneath him.It’s easily a weapon made for the apocalypse.
Human Realm: Vajra Sword Of Akshaya
When Buddha summons the power from Human Realm, The Six Realms Staff reshapes itself into a gleaming golden shortsword. With each slash and parry, he draws deeper on the limitless inner power of Vajra Sword. The word “Akshaya” is a Sanskrit term that means “imperishable” or “indestructible.”
This metaphorical weapon symbolizes the wisdom that cuts through ignorance and the power to overcome all obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Buddha used this sword against Zerofuku to possibly put some sense back into him after he went berserk.
Asura Realm: Shield Of Ahimsa
The Eleven-Faced Kannon is known for its multiple heads that symbolize the deity’s ability to observe suffering in all directions and respond accordingly. It is summoned when Buddha needs to defend from an attack. The Six Realms Staff transforms into a shield that can withstand the titanic blows without a scratch on its gleaming surface.
The weapon’s name, ‘Shield Of Ahimsa,’ can be considered a metaphor. It is likely employed to emphasize the importance of cultivating wholesome qualities and guarding against unwholesome ones, essentially, defense against negative influences.
Preta Realm: Scythe Of Salakaya
Thousand-Armed Kannon is often depicted with multiple rows of hands and faces to represent the bodhisattva’s many abilities to present itself anywhere and everywhere in the universe. Upon summoning their power, Buddha’s staff transforms into a menacing scythe which he wields with his clawed hands.
But most terrifying is the head of the scythe, now shaped into the ferocious visage of a roaring lion. It’s a manifestation of Buddha’s forbidden (and darkest) emotions. With the Lion Scythe in hand, Buddha’s blows are fueled by hatred and wrath.
Sword Of Mahapari Nirvana: Zero
This weapon is an evolved form of a Six Realms Staff after Buddha performs Völundr to intertwine his fate with Zerofuku. This act unlocked the staff’s ultimate potential, elevating it to a state that only those who have attained Nirvana could hope to achieve.
Now the staff has taken on a new form with seven sharp blades extending from the main branch – basically a Shichishito. Etched into the metalwork are intricate writings in Japanese. This is truly a weapon of the Gods, which can cut through literally anything.
