While Bethesda is busy working on The Elder Scrolls 6, there’s another property the studio has that we also haven’t seen in quite some time, and that’s a new entry in the Fallout franchise.
Even if we haven’t heard of anything, that doesn’t mean Bethesda isn’t doing anything.

Every Fallout Game Ranked By Story
Every Fallout game has its own unique story, but some stories are better than others.
A new rumor has surfaced that mentions how the studio has not just oneFalloutgame in development, but multiple, including the next mainline entry in the franchise.

Multiple Fallout Games Said To Be In Development
In the latestFriends Per Second podcast, VGC’s Jonathan Middler mentioned “there are multiple Fallout projects in development including—as far as I’m aware—the one you’re all wanting. But it’s not far enough along to say it.”
It’s worth noting that last year, in apodcast, Bethesda boss Todd Howard talked about the Fallout TV series at Amazon, and during that conversation, he discussed the franchise as a whole. Perhaps unintentionally, Howard confirmed there are multiple Fallout projects in development.

Howard said, “We look at what we are doing with the [Fallout] franchise and then we say do we still feel good about — I can’t reveal it now — but here is our runway for Fallout as a franchise. When is Season 2 happening. What are we doing on mobile. What are we doing in [Fallout 76]. What are we doing with this thing. What are we doing with this other thing. And when are these landing. And again if I could snap my fingers and have them all be out and ready I would. But the main thing is how do we deliver these at a high quality level. That is always most important.”
InMicrosoft’s leaked court documentsby the FTC, it mentioned how Bethesda was developing aFallout 3 remaster, and if it’s anything like the recently-releasedThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it’ll be more of a remake than just a simple upgrade.

Fallout Creator Explains Why We Won’t See The Original Games Remastered Soon, If Ever
There are countless hurdles in the way of the Interplay Fallout games being remastered.
Given how long Bethesda takes to develop its games, don’t expect to see Fallout 5 anytime soon, as it doesn’t even have a teaser attached to it, unlike The Elder Scrolls 6, which was announced in 2018, and here we are six years later with nothing tor show for itexcept a teaser.

The more plausible game to look forward to for Fallout fans is the Fallout 3 remaster. But much like the next mainline Fallout entry, that, too, hasn’t been announced. There is the chance that Bethesda will shadowdrop it like Oblivion Remastered, but if that were the case, we would have heard about it due to leaks.
The latest numbered entry in the franchise is Fallout 4, which was released in 2015. Since then, the only Fallout experience Bethesda has provided to players has beenFallout 76, which is the studio’s live-service RPG version of the franchise. While Bethesda has been very active in providing regular content updates to the online RPG, it’s not the same as a standalone, single-player, narrative-driven experience.
Here’s to hoping we get to see a new Fallout game from Bethesda before the next generation of consoles drops.
