Last week we witnessed Sony Bend Studio’s latest releaseDays Gone, riding the waves on the gaming charts in the UK for thethird week runningwithMortal Kombat 11lagging behind at the number two spot. This week, however, we see a turn of events as Bethesda’sRage 2shoots past both titles to take the much sought after pole position.

WhenRagefirst launched on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in October 2011 it did pretty well for itself butRage 2has failed to match the first game’s relative sales performance at retail. It’s only managed a quarter of what the original achieved in its launch week. Times have changed since then though and digital has grown vastly from eight years ago, plus as Bethesda don’t share digital sales information, there’s currently no way to know how it has performed on consoles like the PlayStation Store.

Rage 2sold best on PS4, accounting for 57% of sales, followed by Xbox One on 38%. PC accounted for 5%, although the majority of PC sales will have come via Steam.

Fresh on the rat race is Asobo Studio’s and Focus Home Interactive’s latest titleA Plague Tale: Innocencewhich comes in at Number nine, closely followed byTom Clancy’s The Division 2at the number eight spot.

In our review of the title, staff writer Michael thought that “DespiteRage 2’s exemplary shooting gameplay and boisterous introduction, it is downtrodden by its uninspired mission design” and “…for everythingRage 2does right, there’s another thing hindering it from being great”.
