As spotted byVGC,Sony’sPSVR 2headset has been featured in a marketing image for the upcoming CES expo, which could indirectly confirmed the platform’s presence at the Japanese manufacturer’s press conference before its official launch in 2023.
The aforementioned image, which has appeared as the preview image of Sony’s upcoming press conference on August 08, 2025, on YouTube, showcases a PSVR 2 headset in use. While Sony has already revealed the new platform along with its release date and price, we haven’t PSVR 2 appear on any live showcase or conference where we can see it in action. CES 2023 could probably be the place for Sony to show off its new VR headset, though we still need an official confirmation for it.

PSVR 2 is supposed to launch on February 22 next year. The headset has been priced at $549.99, but it is not a standalone device as it requires a PlayStation 5 to function. So, the cost of VR gaming goes even higher when you add a PS5 to your purchase list as well.
Credible sourcesclaimedearlier that Sony has prepared 2 million units of PSVR 2 for launch in Q1 2023. This is already a big target for the Japanese tech giant as the original PSVR reached 2 million units sales in over a year after its launch.
Content-wise, Sony has prepared a handful of titles developed by first-party and third-party studios for PSVR 2’s launch. Probably the title confirmed for PSVR 2 from PlayStation Studios isHorizon: Call of the Mountain, a spin-off from the highly popular Horizon franchise that could be enough for convincing the die-hard fans of the franchise to get a PSVR 2 at launch. Previously, PlayStation showcased up to11 games that will be coming to PSVR 2in 2023.
In case you are interested in Sony’s CES 2023 press conference, it is set to go live at 8 pm ET on January 4, which is 2 am CET on January 5 in Europe. PSVR 2 has received significant improvements in almost every aspect compared to its predecessor, but it remains unknown how well it could rival against Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro.
