Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC Orge Ousting End Screen Results Medium Difficulty

EV training can range from battling against the right wild Pokemon to feeding your Pokemon an item, and the newest item to cover the concept is the Mochi provided by The Teal Mask DLC forPokemon Scarlet & Violet. You’ll need a quick breakdown of how these tasty little Mochi work if you want the most out of them.

How To Get Mochi In The Teal Mask

There’s only one way to earn Mochi in Scarlet & Violet;Mochi is a reward for playing and finishing levels of the Ogre Oustin' Minigame. You’ll get the Mochi, along with other rare items, every time you play Ogre Oustin', even if you do not manage to fully pass the selected difficulty level. That said, the amount of rewards you get is based on how well you did, so purposefully failing the minigame instantly to get Mochi is not recommended.

Figuring Out Which Mochi To Use

To decide what Mochi would work best on your Pokemon, you should check outtheir stats page in their summary.UsingOgerponas the example here, notice that there is ablue down arrowon her Defense stat anda red up arrowon her Attack stat. This is to indicateher Defense is lower than average and her Attack is higher than average. Competitive players may have figured this out from just the numbers or by reading her Nature, as many competitive players need to memorize the ideal stats for their chosen team members, but these arrows are a great tool for anyone who does not know the numbers off-hand.

To make the more complicated version simpler, while this Ogerpon does still have the same strengths and weaknesses attributed to all Ogerpon, and there should still be EV trained with those in mind, the Stat screen will still give an easy-to-read rundown to address the boosts and flaws unique to her assigned Nature values.

As Ogerpon’s stats said, her Defense is a weak spot – aResist Mochiwas the best idea to give her to help improve this weak spot.

For competitive players, this process of selection will end up far more complicated, but for anyone just playing the story,Mochi is a great way to fix the disadvantages your Pokemon’s stats will be given from their Nature.

A Full List Of All Seven Mochi

Each Mochi is assigned a specific stat that it will increase, and there is only one Mochi that breaks this rule. To start the list, the blue Mochi is called Health Mochi, and feeding it to a Pokemon will give it an increase in the HP Stat.

Next on the list is thered Mochi, which will increase your Pokemon’s base Attack Stat. This Mochi is namedStrength Mochi.

As showcased earlier with Ogerpon, the black Mochi is called Resist Mochi, and it increases a Pokemon’s base Defense Stat.

Many of the names for the Mochi have instantly given away their purpose, but thepurple Mochi named Genius Mochiis a little more abstract in its name.Genius Mochi will increase a Pokemon’s base Special Attack Statwhen fed.

Neither of the Special Stat attributes gets a perfectly fitting name, as shown by theClever Mochi. This yellow-colored Mochi will increase your Pokemon’s Special Defense Statif you feed one to it.

Thegreen Mochisees a return to straightforward naming conventions, being namedSwift Mochi. The Swift Mochi will increase a Pokemon’s based Speed Statonce fed.

Every previous Mochi has its uses, be it both for competitive players and single-player players alike. However, the most useful Mochi for the competitive scene is easilythe White Mochi named Fresh-Start Mochi.

The Fresh-Start Mochidoes not increase any Stat.Quite the opposite, the Fresh-Start Mochi will completely reset all Stat values to zero. For story-only players, this may sound like either not a big deal or an outright burden, as eating Fresh-Start Mochi to a Pokemon would be a full reset and then some. But, competitive players often have to rely on breeding mechanics or over-catching to try and catch a Pokemon with the exact Nature they want, and only because of each specific Pokemon’s strengths and weaknesses to their EVs with and without Natures.

The Fresh-Start Mochi will allow those competitive players to create the Pokemon they want and fully customize the EVs to their liking from scratch. This, in theory, could save hours of time and make this Mochi an even better EV item than previous EV items, such as Vitamins, Feathers, or even the Grit Rocks introduced inPokemon Legends: Arceus.

While the first six Mochi are great for story-driven players and will also aid competitive ones, the Fresh-Start Mochi is a must for competitive players even if its uses are not too practical for the story-only players.
