Game Freak has announced the next Tera Raid Battle event forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will feature Garchomp and Sylveon for a limited time.Unlike players have seen during the past Tera Raids, the Pokemon encountered won’t be version dependent. Garchomp and Sylveon will be available both in Scarlet and Violet, starting from 00:00 UTC on February 17 through 23:59 UTC on February 19.Garchomp and Sylveon will replace Tandemous, which had players seeking raids on Valentine’s Day. The dual-type legendary and the fairy evolution of Eeve will appear more frequently in the wild, allowing players to battle and capture the two Pokemon to empower their Pokedex. Regardless of which copy of the game they have, players can catch both the Terrastallized forms of Garchomp and Sylveon. The upcoming event marks the first Tera Raid event to feature a dragon Pokemon since Hydreigon and Dragapult appeared in 4 and 5-star Raid Battles.

Garchomp is a Dragon/Ground type Pokemon with two abilities, Sand Veil and Rough Skin. Sand Veil raises the Pokemon’s evasion during a sandstorm by one level, as Rough Skin hurts the opponents by 1/8th of their maximum Hit Points of recoil when using a physical attack against this Pokemon. Sylveon, on the other hand, is a fairy-type Pokemon evolved from Eeve, which can increase the power of normal moves by 20% with the Pixilate ability. Besides, when enemies use a physical attack against Sylveon, they have a 30% chance of being induced with Attract.

Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet allows players to capture different forms of Pokemon to update their teams. There are plenty of sparkling pillars of light coming from various crystals across the Paldea region, which players can dive into to battle against the Terrastallized Pokemon. Tera Raids are not in set locations, meaning they get randomly placed in the wild. Players can embark on Tera Battles with up to three friends to capture Tera Pokemon.

The next Tera Raid event focused on Garchomp and Sylveon will be available between February 17 and 19. For two days, players can collect a variety of items and high-powered Pokemon with special abilities.
