Pokemon Go is all set to feature quite a familiar Pokemon in this week’s Spotlight Hour and fans are quite curious to know more about it.
For the last Spotlight Hour of August 2022, we have Pidove as the featured Pokemon. The Normal-Flying type Pokemon was introduced all the way back in Generation V and evolves into Tranquill and Unfezant. The event will be kicking off at 6 pm local time, and players will have one hour to catch as many Pokemon as they can. During the hour the event runs, the spawn rate of Pidove increases significantly, so you can utilize this opportunity to catch as many Pidove as you can, and evolve them. The first evolution requires just 12 Pidove candies, while the second one requires 50 Pidove candies.
When it comes to the event bonus, this week players have a great chance to level up quickly. Every time they evolve a Pokemon, they will get twice the amount of XP they usually get. While evolving Pidove will be significantly easier during this event, you will get this bonus for every Pokemon you evolve, so you shouldn’t just be focusing on Pokemon and try to evolve as many as you can.
Lastly, coming to the shiny status of Pidove. While fans were disappointed with a couple of non-shiny Spotlight Hour events this month, the developers are ending the month on a high. That is, you will be able to catch a shiny Pidove in this week’s Spotlight hour. The odds of catching a shiny remain unchanged, however. That being said, you can still find more shinies in the wild, as there will be more Pidove spawning than usual.
To ensure that you are able to get the maximum rewards out of the event, you need to use the existing mechanics of the game in conjunction with the event features. That is, you should attempt to use Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces to catch Pokemon more easily and get more XP.
