The newest trailer forPokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!andPokémon: Let’s Go Eevee!gives us a good look of the visual updates for the Kanto Region gym leaders and Elite Four.
Based on the 1998 release,Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, all the gym leaders – which include Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, and Giovanni – all received a slightly updated look, some of which you can see in action in the new trailer. This also extends to the Elite Four – Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance – which have also received a slight change while still maintaining their original look.
The trailer also shows the entrance to the Elite Four at Indigo Plateau. This time, it’s in 3D instead of the 2D pixel graphics we have become accustomed to with thePokémonfranchise.
In order to garner the coveted title of Pokémon Champion, you must defeat the Elite Four. However, becoming a champ is not the end of your journey inPokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!andEevee!. In order to become the very best (like no one ever was), you must defeat theMaster Trainersthat are scattered throughout the Kanto Region. Master Trainers are like normal Trainers except they are infatuated with a single pokémon; they are the master of that particular species.
The requirement to battle Master Trainers is pretty straightforward: you must fight them with the species that they love. For example, if they are a Blastoise Master, you must defeat them with a Blastoise. If you end up defeating the Master Trainer, you will earn a Master title for that particular species which will be displayed during Link Battles.
Also seen in the trailer isMeltan, the brand new legendary being brought to bothPokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!andLet’s Go Eevee!, as well as some battles against the Kanto region gym leaders like Sabrina and Giovanni.
Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!andLet’s Go Eevee! are set to launch on July 09, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch.
