As spotted byArekkz Gamingand reported byDSOG, Project: The Perceiver recently received extended gameplay footage, which showcases more combat scenes and action mechanics compared to the game’s announcement trailer that went live earlier.

Project: The Perceiver is an upcoming open-world action experience developed by a Chinese team. The game was originally announced almost a month earlier as an exclusive title for PS4 and PS5, though the game’s visuals look too good for a PS4 title.

The new extended footage from Project: The Perceiver is actually a live stream by the developers during which some key members of the project explain more about the gameplay mechanics and the overall experience, but unfortunately we have no clue about that information as the developers speak in Chinese, and YouTube doesn’t generate an automatic translation.

Anyway, the footage itself is long and detailed enough that will give you a better understanding of what you should expect from Project: The Perceiver. Aside from the game’s fast-paced combat system, it seems to feature some special platformer missions with challenging environmental elements and obstacles. After all, the game has a special focus and perceiving the world and its enemies.

Probably the best part of this footage is the incredibly realistic visuals of the game, especially the smooth animations and superb textures that make the environment look alive. In some scenes, the developers zoom on the protagonist’s face to show off the superior hair physics as well as the detailed character design.

While the developers have not made any comparisons, it seems like Project: The Perceiver features a SoulsBorne-style difficulty level as the combat moments in the gameplay require strategy as well as perfect timing, especially when the protagonist is surrounded by many enemies.

Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced for Project: The Perceiver yet, but we should probably hear more about it next year. The game has only been confirmed for PlayStation consoles so far, but DSOG claims that there are rumors of a PC version as well. It’s worth noting that the current footage has been captured on PC, which means the game might not run this well on PS4 or PS5.
