Phantom Blade Zerois a new triple-A game from China. Developed by S-Game, the project is an action-RPG that’s dark and super stylistic. The Soulslike gameplay will surely keep players engaged the whole way through.

The founder and CEO of S-Game, ‘Soulframe‘ Liang, discussed the project in a recent interview. Also serving as the game’s director, Liang points to one game releasing in 2024 that could propel Chinese developers to a whole new level. It’s ride or die for this highly anticipated game.

During theinterview, Liang kept going back to Game Science’s project as a key factor in moving the games industry forward in China. He thinks the game will be a big hit and continues:
There are more to come. I think they’ll all be very successful, and I think that’s the trend. It’s definitely the beginning…Even though they were making MMOs and mobile games before, I totally understand how good they are.

IfBlack Myth: Wukongdoes succeed and becomes a massive success, Liang could be correct. The reputation of Chinese developers could change from MMO/mobile gaming to producing triple-A like projects for consoles and PC.

Phantom Blade Zeroappears to be another high quality console and PC game coming from Chinawhich is all the more reason for Liang to root for Game Science’s project. If it delivers, that means more players will have eyes on Liang’s game.
From Reveal To Launch – Black Myth: Wukong
When the reveal trailer released in 2020, it was 13 minutes of gameplay which shocked the world. The game seemingly came out of nowhere but running on the Unreal Engine 4 at the time, it made for a fantastic first impression.
The game has since moved up to the Unreal Engine 5, making the world look even more realistic. Taking many Soulslike mechanics, the linear experience will have you travel from world-to-world learning about the Sun Wukong.It’s not a full blown Soulslike adventurebut should satisfy anyone looking for a similar experience.
