Shin Megami Tenseideveloper Atlus is teasing a new project in the series: theSoul Hackersspinoff is coming back.
Atlus' Japanese Twitter account teased the return ofShin Megami TenseispinoffDevil Summoner: Soul Hackers. On August 23, 2025, a newSoul HackersTwitter account, retweeted by Atlus, shared a link to a short “Soul Hackers” countdown page. Once the countdown ended on February 17 20:00 JST, the page was updated with another countdown, which is now ending onFebruary 21.

Simultaneously, theSoul HackersTwitter is now asking fans of theShin Megami Tenseiseries several questions such as:
Fans can answer the tweets with Japanese hashtags for each of the questions. According to the header page of theSoul HackersTwitter account and the countdown, it is gathering and analyzing information on humans. The results of the analysis will be published when the countdown ends, on the “Aion Live Broadcasting Sequence” stream.

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackerswas the secondDemon Summonergame and one of the first spinoffs of theShin Megami TenseiRPG series, released in 1997 on Sega Saturn, one year after the firstPersonagame.
Set in the near future,Soul Hackersfollows The Spookies, hackers who find a demon summoning gun and end up fighting an impending demon menace. The game uses a turn-based battle system and theShin Megami Tenseiseries' iconic demonic fusions.
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackerswas also one of the many Atlus games that got a Nintendo 3DS remake. The remake was in fact the first time the JRPG was officially localized in English.
Now that Atlus has been bought over by Sega, more and more of the studio’s game have been localized, with some even getting worldwide releases likeShin Megami Tensei Von Switch. If a newSoul Hackersgame is announced, we’ll hopefully get a Western release quickly confirmed.
Atlus is also working onPersona 6,which was teased several times now.The game should be revealed in Fall 2022 at the end of the Persona 25th anniversary celebrations.
