Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Colman Domingo(Rustin), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) were nominated in this category. Murphy won the award in his first-ever nomination in his career.
Oscar for Best Supporting Actress
Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), America Ferrera (Barbie),and Jodie Foster (Nyad) were nominated in this category. Randolph continued her winning streak and took home the award.
Oscar for Best Supporting Actor
Robert Downey Jr (Oppenheimer), Sterling K Brown (American Fiction), Robert De Niro (Killers of the Flower Moon), Ryan Gosling (Barbie), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things) were nominated in this category. Downey Jr. secured the win in his third nomination in his career.
Oscar for Best Director
Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Justine Triet (Anatomy of a Fall), Martin Scorsese(Killers of the Flower Moon), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things), and Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest) were nominated in this category. Nolan went on to win the award, his first win in his career.
