For 27 years,One Piecefans have been following the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates to find out what the treasure is that has created so much hype. When the Straw Hat crew finds the treasure, the series will be finally over, and the anticipation within the fans will finally come to rest. But what ifOne Pieceis already over?

What if the adventures that we are currently going through have already taken place and we are just watching the past being narrated? If this assumption comes out to be true, a lot ofOne Piecefans will be devastated, as most of them want a first-hand experience of the thrilling journey with Luffy and the other Straw Hat members.
While this seems a little far-fetched, there is aOne Piecetheory that gives two plausible reasons to believe this scenario. Both of these scenarios revolve around the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, Soul King Brook, who is in a way “immortal.”

One PieceTheory Hints At Luffy’s Journey Being Completed A Long Time Ago
According to a theory posted by popularOne PieceYouTuber,Ohara, there is a big possibility that Luffy is already done with his adventure; he has become the Pirate King, and the story that we are currently reading is just being narrated by Brook to the future generations, or he is just reminiscing about it alone on the Thousand Sunny.
“The absolutely worst people in the One Piece world”: Eiichiro Oda’s Biggest Possible Secret Can Make Luffy’s Idol Gol D. Roger Look Like a Bad Guy
The prime evidence of this is the narration bubbles that frequently pop up within theOne Piecemanga, whenever there is something important going on in the story. Although these narrations can just be a self-insert byEiichiro Oda, they seem a little more personal than just some storytelling device. Also, the theme of the Grand Cycle that is used by Oda inOne Pieceproves that he is not a fan of self-insert narration.
Brook is the only onewho can stay alive long enoughto narrate these events as a personal experience in the future. Also, if the events are really being narrated, Brook seems to be the perfect candidate for it considering his endeavors with his former crew.

Nami’s Journal Strengthens The Theory
Every protagonist’s story inOne Piece, be it of Joy Boy or of Gol D. Roger, has been narrated through some kind of personal element. In the case of Joy Boy, it is the poneglyphs created by Kozuki and spread by Nefertari D. Lili, and in the case of Roger, it is Oden’s journals and Rayliegh’s memories.
In the case of the Straw Hat Pirates, each and every adventure that they have experienced has been recorded by Nami in a logbook, just like other navigators. Andif the Straw Hats diein the future, Brook might be the only one who would have access to these logbooks, which contain their journey even before Brook joined the crew.

Thus, while there are some plotholes in the theory, there is a strong chance that Brook might be reciting the wonderful adventures of the upcoming Pirate King to the new generation to motivate them to go on a journey of their own to find theOne Piece.
