Helldivers 2is all about the simple joys of life: blasting bots and bugs with big guns. The mission objectives, while varied to a degree, all require you to deal with the foes of Super Earth with firepower and fortitude.
So, it stands to reason that in a game where the best way to get ahead is to create the biggest BOOM, having the biggest gun for the job makes things much more simple. That’s what we have for you today: a gun so OP that it might make the game a little too easy. But that doesn’t mean it becomes less fun.
This Explosive Chucking Gun Can Guarantee You Success in Helldivers 2
The gun we are referring to is the JAR-5 Dominator. Titled the current “best explosive gun” by @HelldiversAlert on X. The title is not unwarranted; this gun is known to pack a punch, and the explosive tag means it deals 100% of its damage to any soft fleshy bits. This can be a boon when you are going up against a horde of Terminids.

As the description states, the gun trades in fire rate and magazine capacity for pure damage. While it can hold only 15 of its jet-propelled rounds at any given time, each one that lands for a whopping 200 points. Now that’s a lotta damage!

Add to that the weapon’s armor-penetrating capabilities, and you have a gun that can take down even the Automatons in a couple of shots. The low ammo capacity can be worked around by dealing with mobs witha gun like the Flamethrowerand saving the Dominator for heavy hitters.
However, those eager to try the gun should be wary of its recoil. The gun can become a little unwieldy, especially if you have a playstyle that requires you to be on the move regularly. Some players also feel that the gun should have better handling, given the resources required to gain access to it.

Those picking up this gun are doing so knowing the drawbacks and its special use cases.

The Dominator is best for dealing with moderately armored enemies with larger health pools, such as Brood Commanders, Devastators, Hive Guards, or Scout Striders. Pair it with a support weapon stratagem that can clear large crowds, such as the Machine Gun, Arc Thrower, Stalwart, or Flamethrower.
Some players feel the gun’s damage capacity makes the gameplay too easy. For those looking for a true challenge, there are several others to ensure the fights remain intense. But, if you are interested in a gun that makes a big boom, you can’t go wrong with the Dominator.
