Apart from Goku and Vegeta, Bulma is another character inDragon Ballwho is most crucial in the entire plot. Fans sometimes forget that it was because of her that Goku got into the journey of collecting the Dragon Balls in the first place. She may not be physically strong but her knack for inventing stuff literally made Goku’s job of collecting the Dragon Balls a whole lot easier.

With the Dragon Radar and the invention of the Time Machine to help Future Trunks, the Dragon Team has been indebted to her since. But inDragon Ball Super, fans feel her significance has been reduced to a mere supporting role where she’s just there as an advisor rather than actually going around joining the team to confront the villains.
Sure, she managed to tame Beerus and Whis by introducing them to Earth’s delicious food, but there’s another character who can actually make her useful again and it’s not Goku or Vegeta.

The introduction of Bulma’s sister in the world ofDragon Ball
For those who have not read Akira Toriyama’sJaco: The Galactic Patrolmanwhen it first released, the introduction of Jaco and Bulma’s sister in theDragon Ball Superanime would have caused quite a surprise for fans. The Jaco manga is a 12-chapter manga written in 2013 that serves as a prequel toDragon Ball, taking place around 10 years before the very first chapter.
In the manga, Tights is introduced as this damsel in distress running away from four muggers in East City but Jaco then saves her. She’s basically forced to fill in for an idol, “An Azuki,” to be on a rocket that may or may not explode. Some soldiers came to pick her up but Jaco saved her once again by taking them out and escaping to an island.

Akira Toriyama Could Have Turned Bulma into the Batman of Dragon Ball with the Resources She Had that All Went to Waste
Fans haven’t seen Tights come up with any crazy invention but her meeting Jaco sparked an interest in Bulma as she and her family visited the island where the space-time scientist Omari lived. As a child, Bulma was already intelligent enough to fix Jaco’s spaceship without anyone noticing while carrying a laser gun that she designed herself because she thought Jaco was an evil alien.
In the intervening years, Tights forced Jaco to take her to visit a few planets and since then, Tights has become a talented science fiction writer, though her novelChako the Space Policeman, based on Jaco himself, was a dud. Later on, she eventually settles on the island along with Omori and his assistant, Katayude.

Bulma’s Technological Genius Inadvertently Left the Door Open for Dragon Ball’s Most Spin-chilling Villain to Wreak Havoc in Goku’s Universe
10 years later, Bulma visits the island again for a temporary reunion and reveals that she is searching for a set of Dragon Balls, which at that time, she thought to be extraterrestrial in nature. That’s when she got to know about Tights visiting planets with Jaco and probably went on a few inter-planetary escapades herself.
Many years later inDragon Ball Super, Bulma calls Tights to ask if she can get a hold of Jaco so Bulma can use his new spaceship to get to the center of the universe to track down the last Super Dragon Ball.

Tights may not have appeared in the story much but given that she’s Bulma’s biological sister, it’s possible that her presence can make Bulma relevant again.
How Bulma’s sister can make her relevant again inDragon Ball Super
Well for starters, fans know that Tights go around to planets occasionally with Jaco and see if there’s something interesting to write about. There could be a separate side story where she gets into trouble with a villain on that planet and Bulma and Vegeta might have to come save her.
Another instance could be where Tights found some new technology on another planet and gave it to Bulma and that becomes a brand-new invention that could perhaps save the world from some great evil. Or maybe Toyotaro could reveal that Tights was a genius all along and that she has forgotten about her skills and she could help Bulma invent something as significant as a space-time machine. After all, she is living with a genius scientist on an isolated island.
Bulma’s Real Purpose in Dragon Ball Explains Why Akira Toriyama Couldn’t Do Anything Concrete with Her Character
There are an endless number of scenarios the current creators ofDragon Ballcan make that don’t necessarily have to involve Goku or Vegeta. Jaco, Bulma, and Tights could have their own adventure in a spin-off that Toyotaro could work on the side. In the world ofDragon Ball, any story is possible.
