Gamescomis almost upon us, opening on August 20th and running ‘till the 24th, andNintendohas let slip the full list of games they’ll be demoing at the event.
Everything here is fully playable - a statement that may sound normal - but hits a little differently when you put the name “Silksong” in the same sentence.
Thelong-awaited Hollow Knight sequelwill stand alongside 11 other Nintendo Switch 2 titles. Many are original games developed for the platform, but others are older titles being ported to the console. When it comes to big games like Elden Ring, that’ll be a good stress test to see how the Nintendo Switch 2 handles the big stuff.

Of these, 4 have already been released as Switch 2 titles: Cyberpunk and all the Mario-adjacent games. So we won’t get much new out of them, but hey, a demo’s a demo.

Silksong is easily the most interesting entry on this list, since actual info about the game has been so scarce. It’s been so scarce for so long, that the comments on aReddit post discussing the newsare nearly incomprehensible to those who don’t know what Silkposting is.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Fans Have Dangerous Amounts Of Hope
It’s rarely a stable time in the Hollow Knight: Silksong subreddit. When they’re not faking their own leaked info, they’re hyping themselves up for actual info that, inevitably, never quite arrives. They have been doing this off-and-on for about… six years.
It’s a rollercoaster of hope and bait and getting hyped over nothing and broken trust and whispers and rumors and… official comments from a company like Nintendo are hard to come by. Especially something as definitive as this. Something people can just… go to. And see for themselves.
It would be really funny, then, if Nintendo’s Silksong demo was just a bait-and-switch for something else. Horribly immoral and would probably start riots, but funny nonetheless.
