Netflix has made a strategic change following the end of the tenure of Scott Stuber as Netflix film chief, with Dan Lin taking over to alter the scenario in the film department. The very idea of it means a lot to filmmakers and stars for Netflix originals.

Millie Bobby Brown, who claimed global fandom with Netflix original show,Stranger Thingshas appeared in several other projects for the studio. But under Lin’s new tenure, the actor gets the short end of the stick. The strategic change in the studio means a lot of different things, especially in content production and cinematic adaptation.
Dan Lin Vows To Make Netflix Different
With Dan Lin as the next film chief, the studio is set to witness quite a change in the film department, including strategies and production. A report fromThe New York Timesstated that right after Lin’s arrival at Netflix as new film chief on April 1, he immediately laid off around 15 people in the creative film executive group. The layoff includes one vice president and two directors out of around 150 people in the film department.

Lin previously worked with Warner Bros., producing titles includingItandLegomovies. His Netflix goal remains rather straightforward— it is to make movies under the banner of the studio better, cheaper, and less frequent. Does it mean more awards-bound? Perhaps but one thing is certain, the upcoming content on the platform will be very different.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Future At Netflix
Millie Bobby Brownrecently appeared in Netflix’s fantasy action adventure,Damsel— a mediocre filmsecuring a 56% score at Rotten Tomatoes. Of course, the actor has quite a splendid trek record at the studio with her previous works includingStranger ThingsandEnola Holmesmovies. Brown is quite confident of her future collaboration with Netflix. During the promotional tour ofDamsel, the actor spoke withBuzzrevealing her working relationship with the streaming giant.
“I know my relationship with Netflix won’t end and I think for me that’s what helps me remain calm and like that I’m going to stay at home you know that that that these people know me and they care about me and to work with them and collaborate with them is like a dream to me so I think yeah I’m excited for the future and the you know future projects I’m going to do with Netflix,”she told Buzz.

To her surprise, however, Netflix recently declined to claim the rights to a short story for a film where Brown was attached. So, again, in Lin’s tenure, Brown’s future under the studio looks suspicious, especially, the actor’s future feature projects.
