In a piece of exciting news about another biopic about a musical conductor (followingTarandMaestro), John Malkovich is set to play Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache, in a film titledThe Yellow Tie. As reported byVariety, the film will be directed by Celibidache’s son Serge Ioan Celebidachi, who also co-wrote the film with James Olivier.

The film will also star Ben Schnetzer as a young Celibidache, along with Miranda Richardson, Kate Phillips, Anton Lesser, and Sean Bean. The latter will play Celibidache’s harsh and ruthless father who throws him out of the house and abandons him after he discovers his son wants to pursue a career in classical music.
The actor’s role in the film is a complete contrast to hisGame of ThronesroleNed Stark, who was an honorable and kind individual who often helped and took in underdogs under his care. While he may have had a short tenure on the franchise, he made a mark among audiences as one of the most large-hearted men amidst a crowd of scheming individuals in the show.

“I’ve seen that. Is it called a Death Reel? I’m not too bothered. If it’s a good part, it’s worth dying for. With scripts, I used to read from the end to see if I was still in them. I’d go: “Oh no, I only last until page 34.” When you’re starting out, you’re much more dispensable. Now they might keep me alive and get their money’s worth”
