Within the span of 700 manga chapters, Masashi Kishimoto’sNarutohas featured countless battles that reflected multiple aspects of the series. These battles are not always necessary for the narrative, but they excite the fans asNarutois based around the world of Shinobis, or ninjas, and their duels are quite thrilling and dramatic.

Among the indefinite amount of battles inNaruto, there is one fight that, according to many fans, is completely pointless. Although this battle featured the two most important characters of the entire series, it did not have much impact on the story. This battle takes place between Naruto and Sasuke at the very end of the series.
The two characters fight each other to bring their long, ongoing feud to an end, and things finally become peaceful for everyone. While the fight had no significance according to fans, Kishimoto, on the other hand, had a particular liking for such fights. He once revealed how his love for Godzilla led to him creating battles that feature such gigantic figures.

In 2014, when theNarutomanga series ended,Nipponconducted a special interview with Kishimoto where they talked about the different aspects of the widely popular series. During this interview, Kishimoto was asked about introducing humongous beasts like the ten tails, the tailed beasts, and the gigantic summons.
“I thought he was a loud-mouthed obnoxious brat”: Hunter x Hunter Star Had a Very Unpopular Opinion About Naruto
The mangaka while talking about his love forGodzillaexplained:
I loved Godzilla. I just wanted to draw a monster—something big that I could place in a battle. That’s why I decided to introduce the kuchiyose no jutsu, the summoning skills that let ninja call forth the weapons they need, or call a creature to their side to aid them in a fight. My intent from the start was to bring forth gigantic beings with these skills.
The gigantic monsters inNarutohelped Kishimoto in creating large-scale battles that were a highlight of the series. These battles not only gave a mythical feel to the series but also created thrill and adventure for the fans.

However, these battles became so regular that fans eventually lost interest in them. This is one of the main reasons why the final battle of the series between Naruto and Sasuke which features Naruto’s tailed beast mode, and Sasuke’s Susanoo was not very appreciated.
Fans’ Lack of Interest inNaruto’sFinal Battle
Naruto and Sasuke, the two protagonists ofMasashi Kishimoto’sseries, were quite different from one another in many ways. Although both of them planned to revolutionize the Shinobi world, their method of execution was completely opposite. While Naruto wanted to use his experience and wisdom to bring about change, Sasuke decided to end it all and restart everything from scratch.
This is what led to the final battle inNarutoafter the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War. The battle took place in the same valley where their first bout happened. Both were equally powerful, and although Sasuke looked a little more dominant in the fight, the end result was a drawwith both of them losing one of their hands.

Masashi Kishimoto Has No Excuse for What Became of Naruto Because of What Tite Kubo Did with Ichigo in Bleach
While in some ways this battle was necessary, it was placed at the wrong moment in the series. Fans were exhausted after seeing the greatest war inNaruto’shistory, and evidently, they were not ready for another fight. Thus, many fans realized that the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke was in some ways pointless.
Narutois available to watch on Hulu.
