My Hero Academia Chapter 406 Spoilers
In Chapter 406, which is titled “Understand your own quirk!!”, the story unfolds with updates from various battlefields. The hospital battle has concluded, and the wounded are receiving medical care. On Okuto Island, the Nomu has been defeated, and Toru and Aoyama are working to free everyone from the plant-like restraints while continuing their fight against Gashly in the Takoba arena.
Hound Dog and the Ketsubutsu students have successfully captured Skeptic, and Kamakiri, along with Kuroiro, have assisted in evacuating people to Ketsubutsu. In Jaku, all the villains have been apprehended, but the whereabouts of Eraser Head, Present Mic, and Kurogiri remain unknown.

On the other hand, Nagant is seen on a rooftop, reflecting on Lock Lock’s faith in Deku. The story then returns to the ongoing battle, where All Might is impressed by Bakugo’s incredible speed. Edgeshot explains the recent developments with Bakugo’s quirk, which had surprised even Shigaraki himself just before his apparent demise. It appears that Bakugo is in the process of understanding something new about his quirk and must continue using it.
Meanwhile, AFO, who has fallen into a building, expresses his frustration but decides to delay his confrontation with Bakugo. Shigaraki’s determination to break Bakugo again is evident, and Deku, in an internal monologue, acknowledges that he has been relying on his danger sense to evade attacks but still hasn’t found a way to counter Shigaraki’s regeneration, decay, and superhuman abilities. He knows he can only use gearshift one more time, and the consequences will be severe, but Deku decides that now is the time to act.
AFO begins moving toward Shigaraki, which irritates Bakugo. AFO underestimates Bakugo’s explosion quirk, comparing it to other powerful quirks, but Bakugou realizes that pain is the key to mastering his quirk further. He learns to pinpoint the most painful spot and time his explosions for maximum impact. Bakugou reaches incredible speeds, flying and hitting the ground repeatedly, all while experiencing excruciating pain. He laughs and feels impressed by his newfound speed, reflecting on his journey to catch up to Deku and now believing he can even surpass him.
The narrative then shifts to the evacuated civilians, where Mitsuki urges Masaru to watch the fight on the screen, even though their son, Katsuki, is facing All For One. Mitsuki is certain that Katsuki must be wearing his trademark smile. All For One is perplexed by his growing anger toward Bakugo, wondering why this random individual frustrates him more than All Might.
Suddenly, it dawns on him that Bakugo resembles the second user of One For All. In a flashback, the second user tells All For One that if he’s searching for Yoichi, he’s too late, as he killed him. This revelation sends All For One into a rage, blaming Bakugo, but Bakugo boldly asserts, “Are you getting senile?! I’m the one and only Kacchan Bakugou!!!”
