With NetherRealm Studios winding down support for Mortal Kombat 1, the studio’s next game isn’t known yet. Still, if a recent tease by a leaker is anything to go by, the studio might return to theInjusticefranchise.
The tease comes from a known MultiVersus insider who has leaked characters for Warner Bros.’s multiplayer brawler, which isscheduled to go offline later this month, on May 30.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Homelander Accused Of Copying Injustice’s Superman Moves
Both The Boys' Homelander and DC’s Superman have similar powers, but Mortal Kombat 1 fans wanted more originality.
Could We Be Getting An Injustice 3 Announcement Soon?
Over on X (formerly Twitter), known MultiVersus leaker MultiverSusie made the following tweet:
As you’re able to see, the leaker’s tweet mentions the word injustice three times, and if that wasn’t an obvious enough, theyrepliedto their own tweet with just the number “3.”

While this is in no way an official confirmation, this is the first time any murmurs of a third game in the franchise have been spotted in recent memory. Since Injustice 2’s release in 2017, the franchise has remained dormant, with NetherRealm Studios releasing Mortal Kombat 11, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught and Mortal Kombat 1.
If NetherRealm does go back to the DC fighting game franchise, it’s a move that makes sense, given the reception to Mortal Kombat 1 hasn’t been as well received as MK11, it might be time for the franchise to take a little break.

Injustice 3 Art from BossLogic Teasing Watchmen Appears, Not Known If It’s Official or Not
Injustice 3 rumors are gaining a lot of traction with a new poster now appearing from artist BossLogic which may or may not be officially tied to the game.
When Injustice 2 was released, it was one of the best-rated fighters at the time. Our review mentioned, “Injustice 2 improves upon Injustice: God Among Us in almost every way. It’s faster, smoother, better animated, and better written than its predecessor, and is definitely NeatherRealm’s best fighting game yet.”

OnOpen Critic, the game achieved a “Mighty” rating with an average score of 87 from over 150 critic reviews.
Again, I want to reiterate that this tease is not official, and for all we know, could be something the leaker is wishing for instead of knowing insider info. That said, I wouldn’t be shocked to hear of an announcement for it happen this year, since NetherRealm’s next game has been planned “a long time ago” confirms the studio’s boss.
