It looks like we could be receiving the official reveal ofMortal Kombat12 next month, asJez Corden, a journalist and industry insider, has taken to Twitter to tease fans on some potential news.Following on from a live stream of Mortal Kombat 9,Maximilian Doodtweeted out, “Good lord, MK9 is really fun as shit. I now hope MK12 has the speed of MK9 decision making.” A rather unexpected response was then made by Corden, who said, “I think you’ll find out more next month,” clearly teasing a potential reveal of the next instalment in the series.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise though, as co-creator of Mortal Kombat and Injustice Ed Boontweeted out late last yearthat a reveal of Mortal Kombat 12 is likely happening within the next six months. Considering the tweet was made all the way back in December, a May 2023 reveal for Mortal Kombat 12 would line up perfectly.

It was alsoconfirmed earlier this year that not only would Mortal Kombat 12 be revealed in 2023, but it will also be released at some point this year too. The news was made official during a quarterly earnings call for Warner Bros, the publisher of Mortal Kombat. During the call, Warner Bros executive vice president Andrew Salabin said, “And there’s lots more to come, including the highly-anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, games also set for release this year with ambitious launch projections.”

It was a rather lacklustre announcement for a new Mortal Kombat game, but fans are hopeful that a more official reveal is on the way. Should industry insider Jez Corden to be believed, it could be arriving next month.

But if you can’t wait for the release of Mortal Kombat 12 to get your fighting-fix, Capcom has dropped asurprise demo for Street Fighter 6on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, available to try out right now.
