Nightwolf made his first appearance inMortal Kombat 3. He is a shaman who is completely in tune with the spiritual world. This allows him to create weapons out of pure spirit energy. InMortal Kombat (2011), Nightwolf was a main playable character. He stood with the Earth warriors against the Lin Kuei cyborgs before ultimately sacrificing himself to also destroy Sindel. InMortal Kombat X, Nightwolf was back as a non-playable Revenant and forced into battle against his former allies.
His appearance inMK11sees anolder Nightwolfjoin the mix. That makes sense given the time skip the series experienced when introducing the Kombat Kids inMKX. That said, even as an older man, Nightwolf still possesses an imposing figure. I can’t wait to see his moveset in action, as well as the different skin options he’ll have available.

Because the trailer is likely showing at EVO, I expect Nightwolf won’t be the only character shown. We know thatSpawnis on the docket, and I would be very surprised if he doesn’t make a small cameo on a stage as big as EVO. I doubt we get the final two character reveals, but it feels safe to predict Todd McFarlane’s baby will be a classic “and one more thing” moment in the trailer.
EVO 2019 takes place from August 2-4.Mortal Kombat 11’s finals happen Saturday night. If you want to jump in and play some greatMKaction yourself, the game is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One now.
