Kadokawa Games announcedLoverR Kissfor PS4 and Switch, coming this winter in Japan. The announcement was made at the “Kadokawa Games Dai Kanshasai 2019” event on October 19.
LoveR Kissis an updated version ofLoveR, which launched exclusively on PS4 last March in Japan.LoveRis the latest in a series of games mixing photography and dating sim elements directed by Ichirou Sugiyama. Previous games includePhoto KanoandReco Love(andTrue Love Storyto a certain extent).LoveRhas character designs by Taro Minoboshi, who worked onRoot LetterandGod Wars.
LoveR’s novelty is how it includes voice recognition to chat with the girls or ask them for poses duringphoto sessions.Each girl also has between 4000 and 5000 voiced lines in total. you may read more onLoveRthrough thevarious commentsandinterviews of Sugiyamawe translated in the past. LoveR Kisswill most notably add a romance route with chemistry and biology teacher Himari Saiki, voiced by Sakura Tange.
The Switch version ofLoveR Kisswill also use the Switch’s gyroscope to let players change camera angles during photo sessions. More information on the new additions will be coming soon.
LoveRgetting an updated version isn’t surprising news seeing the original game is getting new updates and costumes DLC regularly. The myriad of risque costumesLoveRhas on PS4 is also one of the many examples to counter the “Sony censors everything on PS4” and is “killing waifus” hysteria some are spreading. Sugiyama and the team keep doing Magical Yumina Vtuber videos every week too. A new video was released today with gameplay from the new Himari route inLoveR Kiss.I personally knew they’d add a Himari route at some point. I wish they’d added a serious romance route with the Sugita-voiced character too since that sounds super fun.
