The American actor has starred in a plethora of works since his debut in 1988, including the television seriesRescue Me.But that isn’t what he’ll be remembered for.

It is the numerous video games that he’s been a part of that are his legacy. Here is a list of all the games that he has been a part of apart fromMax Payne.
The science-fiction first-person shooter, developed by Midway Studios, holds true to its name and revolves around how Ethan Cole deals with alien beings. The fact that the alien race was a result of the experiments conducted by human beings only adds to the horror. Our favorite voice actor did not have a specific role in the game, yet he voiced certain additional characters.

The game failed to have the impact that many would have expected it to have, though it gained favorable reviews from critics.

Alone in the Dark
Alone in the Darkis another horror survival film in the list of games that James McCaffrey has been associated with, voicing the protagonist Edward Carnby in the 2008 game. Set in a world of demons and exorcisms, players unravel the mystery behind Carnby’s exorcism, and the cult that seeks to use the Philosopher’s Stone in order to unleash an evil power upon the world.
Despite all the adventures,Alone in the Darkdid not sit well with the critics because of its numerous technical flaws.

Controlmarked another chapter in James McCaffrey’s collaboration with Remedy Entertainment. Released in 2019, the action-adventure game revolved around a secret (and fictitious) U.S. governmental agency, the Federal Bureau of Control that deals with phenomena that are outside the bounds of reality and can confound the average person. While the protagonist, Jesse Faden, is voiced by Courtney Hope, Caffrey voices Faden’s predecessor Zachariah Trench.
A compelling storyline and relatable characters meant thatControlwould go on to become a major hit amongst fans and critics, gaining largely favorable reviews. Its success also emboldened Remedy Entertainment to press on with a sequel.

The 2010 action-adventure game is probably James McCaffrey’s most successful endeavor apart fromMax Payne. No different from a thriller-cum-horror television series, the game witnesses the players embark on a journey to discover the mystery behind his wife’s disappearance. The elaborate storyline fall in love with the game. TheBlindstar lent voice to the characters of Tom Zane and Alex Casey in the game.
The game was a major success, both commercially and critically. It won various awards, including IGN Best of 2010 – Xbox 360’s award for Best Horror Game.
Alan Wake 2
The sequel to the much-loved 2010 action adventure game,Alan Wake 2would be the last game that James McCaffrey would ever be associated with. A survival game that retains the core of its predecessor, the 2023 game revolves around the adventures of Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. McCaffrey retains his role as Alex Casey in the game, even though he was well into his sixties at the time.
Alan Wake 2replicated the original version’s success, if it didn’t fare better. It truly was a befitting farewell for a legend.
