Naturally, the idea of bringing backScaleboundexcites people, even though there’s a slim chance of this actually happening.

Scalebound Was Supposed to Be An Xbox Exclusive From PlatinumGames

Scalebounddebuted at E3 2013 during Microsoft’s press conference, with PlatinumGames handling development and Microsoft Studios publishing.

Despite its cancelation, we were able to see a fair amount of footage during development, including gameplay.

Kamiaya and his team aimed to deliver a game that “remains [s] at the quality that’s always defined [Platinum’s] action games.” The game wouldn’t be an exact copy of Bayonetta’s combat, but instead, it would focus more on photorealistic graphics.

Sadly,Scaleboundhit snags in development before its cancellation in 2017. Currently, the IP is owned by Microsoft, which means Kamiaya and his team at Clovers could, in theory, develop a revival. As for now, Phil Spencer and company aren’t saying anything. But hey, never say never. The idea of an action-heavy game inspired by gigantic monsters, hardcore gameplay, and seemingly endless gameplay choices seem right at home in the current gaming environment.
