Kagurabachi Chapter 2: Spoilers

In the upcoming chapter, we will find Shiba freeing a man captured by the yakuza. Meanwhile, Chihiro confronts the Yakuza boss, keeping him at swordpoint. Shiba questions the boss about a specific Yakuza leader who’s been active for years. While Chihiro is interrogating the boss, a sorcerer (possibly the same one from the previous chapter) casts a spell that causes the boss’s body to explode. After rescuing the survivor, Shiba returns to check on Chihiro.

Chihiro explains that the sorcerer is one step ahead of their plan. As they leave the chaotic scene behind, a flashback takes us to a moment when Shiba sees a young Chihiro covered in blood, holding his father. They had been attacked by sorcerers, and their workshop, where six enchanted swords from war were hidden in the basement, had been destroyed, while the swords were missing.

Shiba is concerned about Chihiro but assures him of his safety. Chihiro reflects on his father’s words and their time together with their goldfish. Overwhelmed, he cries out, repeatedly asking, “Why,” while holding his father’s lifeless body. Returning to the present, Shiba talks to Chihiro as he gazes at his blade, possibly communicating with something within it.
