Throughout the battle, Gojo seemed to overthrow Sukuna, but for the latter, it was the perfect time to test out the power of Mahoraga. Even our overpowered, laid-back type hero, Gojo, seemed worried to witness the giant beast, and everything seems uncertain now. It’s too early to come to a conclusion as of now, but Gojo surely seems to be in a difficult situation.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 229 Spoilers

Chapter 229 starts with Gojo and Sukuna opening their Domain Expansion once again. Gojo wipes away the nosebleed he received at the end of the previous chapter and smiles at Sukuna. Witnessing Sukuna using Domain Expansion instantly, Angel concludes that Sukuna can also regenerate his burnt-out Cursed Energy using Reversed Cursed Technique. Kasukabe suggests that Gojo should inflict really massive damage on Sukuna to verify the latter is not able to maintain his Domain, similar to how Sukuna destroyed Gojo’s Domain from the outside.

Shoko, entrusting Gojo, says that they should not see the unfolding event as unfavorable to Gojo. He states that if Sukuna has to deal with Unlimited Void for even a split second, his powers will be rendered useless. He further states that if Shrine is destroyed within three minutes, then Gojo is sure to win.

The two powerhouses exchange hands inside Gojo’s Domain, and Gojo overpowers Sukuna. As the battle continues, Gojo tries to punch Sukuna, but the latter manages to block his attack. And the next thing we see is Gojo’s barrier and Sukuna’s Shrine, both are destroyed at the same time.

As a result, Sukuna is left with massive injuries once again. Mei Mei seems concerned over the unfolding events, and Miwa states that Gojo is stronger than Sukuna when the battle takes place inside the Domain. It’s time to open their Domains once again, but this time, Gojo managed to open his Domain a bit earlier than Sukuna.

The reason is that Sukuna healed his injuries, resulting in the delay in regenerating his burnt CT. Although it was just a millisecond delay, it was enough to destroy Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine within three minutes while they are inside Gojo’s Domain. As a result, Sukana has to deal with Gojo’s deadliest attack - Unlimited Void.

Seeking the opportunity, Gojo states that he wouldn’t go easy on Sukuna, and at the least, he would crush his heart, lungs, and liver, bringing him close to death as he did with Yuji at the juvenile detention center. However, it’s not that easy to take down the King of Curses. Seeing himself cornered, Sukuna summons his own version of Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. This version of the beast is even more creepy and bigger than the original Mahoraga.

Seeing the beast even shocks Gojo, but he gets ready to destroy it in one sweep attack before the beast adapts itself to Unlimited Void. Gojo starts using Cursed Technique Reversal, but Mahoraga destroys Gojo’s Domain from the inside, surprising Gojo even further as he realizes that Mahoraga has started adapting to his technique.
