WhenPirates of the Caribbeaninitially premiered in 2003 no one could have thought that the movie would develop into a giant franchise. The series became one of Disney’s most profitable ventures as makers continued to churn out one film after the other.
However, it’s been nearly seven years since the last installmentPirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Taleswas released. Recent rumors proclaim a sixth movie is in the works but sadly it won’t feature Johnny Depp. However, there are other members of the beloved crew who will be missed in the upcoming film.
The dwindling crew members: For the dearly departed
Jerry Bruckheimer‘sPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearlwas released in 2003 and instantly charmed the audiences. The tales of the master of the Black Pearl, a forbidden treasure, and a haunting curse arouse intrigue.

But there were other actors who displayed brilliant performances through their roles in the franchise. Unfortunately, the last film was released in 2017 and many members of the series have since then passed due to various reasons.
Sergio Calderónplayed the role of Captain Eduardo Villanueva inPirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. His character formed a crucial part of the narrative as Jack had to recruit him using any means to fulfill his tasks.

The character was a loyal member of the crooked pirate’s crew, speaking through a parrot. He too passed away in 2021, but the reason behind his death was undisclosed.

Richard Griffiths was a part of not one but two major film franchises, having been an integral part of the Harry Potter series. The actor played the role of Vernon Dursley, Daniel Radcliffe’s onscreen uncle, and also portrayed King George II in the fourth film of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
