Cuban added“It was probably when I had $100,000 in the bank.”
Mark Cuban remembers a key moment in his life when he was fired from his job at Your Business Software. At the time, he was living in a small apartment with five roommates. One day, they decided to take a trip to Galveston. A friend had just gotten a new car and wanted to test it out, so they drove two hours and stayed in a cheap, $6-a-night motel.

It was in that run-down motel where Cuban started planning his future company, MicroSolutions. He came up with the name and worked on presentation ideas. Two months later, Cuban was running his business from the same apartment. With no office, he worked from his bed, determined to keep things going.
He realized he had $15,000 in receivables after just two months and focused on staying in business, no matter what. Five months later, his business had grown, with $30,000 in receivables. By the time he was 28,Cubanhad saved $100,000.
