As fans finally got to see the first trailer for the much-anticipatedShadow of the ErdtreeDLC, there are still some loose strings in the main game’s lore.Elden Ringwas released almost two years ago and still enjoys a dedicated fan base. However, despite playing the game over and over again, fans are still fumbling with the narratives associated with a few of the characters.
One such character from theElden Ringgame is Ranni. She was also known as the Lunar Princess Ranni, and her father was Radagon and had two brothers Radahn and Rykard. Fans always wanted to know more about Ranni’s lore as she is well known for her dual face.

Ranni who later in the game’s story got to be known as Ranni the Witch was an Empyrean. Being an Empyrean, Ranni had the potential in the future to become the ruler of the Lands Between by succeeding Marika.
As Ranni’s character was focused on her dual face, fans always wanted to know if this was something intended by the developers and does her dual face carry along with it a symbolic meaning.
This question was asked to none other thanHidetaka Miyazakithe mind behind the game during an interview. The question was focused around the significance of the left eye of Ranni’s spirit form overlapping the right eye of the doll she inhabits.

Miyazaki however didn’t give a direct answer to the question and said that since Ranni intentionally killed her own body and transferred her soul to a doll, it signifies her warped state of existence.Since Ranni is an Empyrean,Miyazaki addedthat,
“It touches on the nature of Empyreans and the multiple different aspects they can possess.”
He also made a relation between Ranni’s dual face with that of Queen Marika, and that how Marika and Radagon are one being.

As fans eagerly wait for theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC, it is obvious that they want to know about the future of theElden Ringgame. This question was answered by none other than Hidetaka Miyazaki during aninterview with IGN.
During the interview when asked about the future of theElden Ringgame or the possibility of another DLC or even anElden Ring 2game down the line, Miyazaki answered that, although at the time being there is no upcoming DLC or a sequel of theElden Ringgame planned, they do not want to completely snuff out that possibility.

Miyazaki further added that,“We don’t want to say this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now. I think we said a similar thing at the end of Dark Souls 3. We didn’t want to flatten those possibilities or put a pin in them just at that time. And it’s a similar story with Elden Ring. We don’t want to discourage the possibilities for that.”
Therefore, by the looks of it, in the future, there is definitely some room forElden Ring’sstory to expand and this is something fans of the game will know as the time unfolds.
