Quentin Tarantino is a man of his own choice, liking whatever appeases him and praising it unhesitatingly, and bashing whatever displeases him and lashing out at it unwaveringly without even fearing the outcome. That said, his choices – especially regarding the entertainment industry’s pieces, in particular – stand out as much as his extraordinarily remarkable personality as well.

For one, he praised the critically commended 2021 thriller masterpiece from Nicolas Cage,Pig, for simply blowing him away. This acclamation is understandable, sure, considering how the film blew many others away, too. At the same time, what most fans arefailingto relate to is Tarantino’s love for Harrison Ford’s worstIndiana Jonesfilm:Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Quentin Tarantino PrefersKingdom of the Crystal SkullOverThe Last Crusade
Quentin Tarantino, the mastermind behind projects likeInglourious BasterdsandPulp Fiction, shares a rather conflicting opinion when it comes to his hot take on theIndiana Jonesfranchise. Per him, even the critically maligned 2008 piece from the saga,Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is more watchable than 1989’sIndiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
During an appearance on theReelBlendpodcast to discuss these films of the world’s greatest archeologist, he expressed the same, saying,

I like ‘Crystal Skull’ more than the Sean Connery one. I don’t like the Sean Connery one. I don’t like [that] one at all. … That’s such a boring one. It’s boring! And he’s not an interesting character. The joke is made immediately.
Apparently, according to Tarantino, theSean Connerystarrer is a bit too much of aboringaddition to the saga; so much so that even theKingdom of the Crystal Skullis better than it. But, of course, that’s not something all fans would agree with, considering howThe Last Crusadehas been rated at 94% by fans onRTwhile the latter has been deemed rotten with only 53% (viaRT).

Well, for what it’s worth, perhaps that’s another praiseHarrison Fordcan take home for his film that greatly lacks approval and appraisal from the audience. But while this choice of Tarantino has had fans raising their brows at him, at the same time, many couldn’t agree with the filmmaker more when it comes to his personal opinion on Nic Cage’s thriller masterpiece from 2021.
Nicolas Cage’sPigHas Quentin Tarantino’s Approval As Well
Besides that one time when he discussed the critical failures and the watch-worthy pieces of theIndiana Jonesfranchise, Tarantino also shared his favoriteNicolas Cagefilm from the last 5 years. This time around, his choice was pretty relatable, for the one he chose wasPig, where Cage plays a truffle hunter in search of his beloved pet after she gets kidnapped.
Talking about the same on theVideo Archives Podcast(viaJoBlo), he said, “In watching some of the Nic Cage stuff, the one that BLEW ME AWAY was that movie he did, Pig. That’s one of the best of the last five years. That’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in the last five years. He deserves to be proud of it… that guy who directed it did a killer job. He did a really, really terrific job.”

He then explained what he foundgreatabout the film, adding, “One of the things that’s great about it, especially after watching all the ‘revenge-o-matics’ we’ve seen, the movie sets it up like all the revenge-o-matics Nic Cage seems to have done in the last five years…this sets itself up to be that only to decidedly not go down that road in the most creative way possible.”
