The House of the Dragon‘s Season 2 is right around the corner, and the marketing for the show seems to have been ramped up in epic fashion. However, the second season of theGame of Thronesprequel has been revealed to be quite detrimental to one couple on the show, who so far, in a show filled with dysfunctional families, had a pretty strong thing going on.

Rhaenys Targaryen and Corlys Velaryon are one of the strongest relationships in the show, among a slew of disgruntled wives and husbands. However, Eve Best, the actress essaying the role of Rhaenys Targaryen, revealed to CBR, how much in trouble the two characters could be, now that the the civil war for the crown is brewing in Westeros.

While a war brews between theBlacks and Greens(the marketing for which has been absolutely brilliant), one of Westeros’ most stable pairs might be dealing with some tension between themselves as well. Best revealed:

Things come up in Season 2 that aren’t actually war-related, that severely test this bond. Rhaenys has been irritated with Corlys. [She is] somebody who wants to talk and deal with the elephant in the room, and [he is] somebody who doesn’t want to talk and wants to just shove everything under the carpet. It’s intensely annoying.

It looks like the heads of the House Velaryon might have some troubles on their hands, which might be compounded by the war that is to soon consume all of Westeros. With the Blacks and Greens coming at each other from all sides, fans of the show are eager to see how their chosen ruler fairs, and it seems that the marketing team for the show has been feeding this fire in full force.
