Many filmmakers have mastered the craft of blending reality with fiction in the sci-fi genre of films, but Zack Snyder has managed to leave an impression on the world because he evolved it to the next level. Bringing gritty and grounded storylines in fantastical films like comic book movies was something he made a name for early in his career.

And now, with his upcoming filmRebel Moongearing up for its final release, critics and film experts have been given the chance to experience and form their opinions on the project. With positive reviews flowing in from all directions, there are still some who feel that this movie has fallen yet again into the Snyder Curse, where it’s all big on action and visuals, but not so much on the storytelling.

I wanted to love#RebelMoonand parts of it I did, especially the end.
It spends so much time assembling the team so getting to know the characters more in the extended cut will probably enhance it. It’s big on style but the ambitious story could’ve been better delivered.pic.twitter.com/e8LrzMaz3e

With a short yet precise review statement for the movie, many have come to the conclusion that this film suffers from the Zack Snyder Curse, which has become the filmmaker’s signature style of going too hard on the visual aspect of his projects but putting only a moderate amount of effort in the grand scheme of narrative and storylines.

What Do The Fans Have To Say About This?
As the film isn’t out for the public to experience yet, many fans have either shown support for the comments made by critics or have shown their skepticism towards them.
Soo typical Snyder

Sounds like every Snyder film. He sounds like one of those directors that would work better as a part of a team than solely by himself.

Everyone with a brain is waiting for the directors cut. That’s where zack shines

Yeah as talented as he is with amazing visuals he suffers in being able to tell a condensed story. Needing a directors cut should NOT be a prerequisite to the original movie/series being good or complete. The oringal should be able to stand completely on its own.

Many theories presented by fans also suggest that since this film is part of a duology, the narrative may have been stretched to become a complete and satisfying story with the release of the second film in the future.
Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire, releasing on Netflix on December 21st, 2023.
