Joker: Folie à Deuxis right around the corner, and it seems that fans are convinced that history is bound to repeat itself. The sequel received the same kind of reviews that Joker did and fans are happy to see that reviewers have a similar consensus to that of the first film.

Joker was a film that received mixed reviews from critics but ended up being a film that audiences enjoyed immensely. Joaquin Phoenix even ended up winning an Academy Award for his work as Arthur Fleck in the film. Fans are more than delighted by the fact thatJoker: Folie à Deuxalso seems to be heading down the same path.
Joker: Folie à Deuxhas received the same kind of reviews its predecessor did
Fans of the firstJokerare predicting another banger of a film after the initial reviews have mirrored those of the first film.Joker, when it first came out, received mixed reviews from critics, which is also the case forFolie à Deux.
Am I the only one who sees the reviews and thinks that the mixed reaction will only increase people’s interest in the film?

It’s exactly whst happened to the first one. Pissed off critics so much too
Divisive as the first one so it means it’ll be good 🙏🏽

divisive like the first one
Critics hated Joker 1.🤷♀️

The film will introduce the fan-favorite character Harley Quinn in a completely new light, or so the trailers suggest. The film will be building up on the themes and plot points that were established in the first film. One of the most interesting things that this film will do, as indicated by its trailers and teasers, is change Arthur’s situation, such that he won’t be alone anymore, which was the crux of the conflict of the first film.
Todd Philips’Jokerseems to be getting the same treatment as Matt Reeve’sThe Batman
Matt Reeves‘The Batmanis going to be kept separate from the DCU, which is gearing up to unify all its verticles under one banner in the hopes of telling a single narrative with multiple moving parts across different media. This also seems to be the case with Todd Phillip’sJoker, who will not be sharing any space in his franchise with a different character.
“He tried to back out of the Joker at the last minute”: Joaquin Phoenix May Lose Millions of Dollars For Putting Todd Haynes’ Movie in Jeopardy by Quitting 5 Days Before the Shoot
However, after Harley’s introduction, it remains to be seen what the franchise has in store next. The Joker’s mythology is pretty thin when Batman is taken out of it, given that the character seldom has the chance to shine on his own, and always works in opposition to on hero or the other. However, if there were to be a third film,Batman: White Knightwould seem like a story that Todd Phillips could draw from.
Joker: Folie à Deuxwill hit theatres on July 01, 2025.
