Despite his character winning everyone over, the actor was embarrassed especially due to his wardrobe choice at the movie’s premiere. In an interview withBritish GQ, he addressed his fashion choices at the time, stating,
I was wearing leather trousers with these cowboy boots and a velvet jacket. I mean, it literally looked like a kid had gone into a dressing-up box.
At the time,Robert Pattinsonwas a rising star, who lacked the style, that later defined his public appearances. As he now views his earlier wardrobe choice as a mix of humor and embarrassment, it only showcases his willingness to acknowledge his growth.
While he garnered much affection from fans, he admitted that he hated playing the character in the movie.

He reflected on why he wasn’t very fond ofhis beloved wizard character. He apparently shared,“I hate him. I used to hate everybody like Cedric at my school.”
He shared that he was far different from what he portrayed on-screen. Given that his character was a leader and bright student, he couldn’t relate to it, explaining,
I was never a leader and the idea of my being made head boy would have been a complete joke. I wasn’t involved in much at school, and I was never picked for any of the teams.
In the 2005 film, he was among the champions selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, representing Hogwarts alongside the titular character. Throughout the tournament, he displayed bravery and integrity but his character met a tragic end during the tournament’s final task.
He sacrificed himself to Voldemort to give Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) the chance to escape, which broke many fans’ hearts.
