The release of the hotly anticipated RPG title,Biomutant, is right around the corner, and fans are wondering if the game will receive a native PS5 version in the future.

What IsBiomutant?
Biomutantis an RPG title developed by Experiment 101 and will be published by THQ Nordic. Currently,Biomutantis set to launch on July 05, 2025 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Experiment 101’s latest title runs on Unreal Engine 4 and is set in a fantasy inspired open world. The game takes place from a third-person perspective where players take control of a mammalian warrior.
As is custom with most RPG’s, players will be able to customise their own character and decide on vital abilities that will impact the performance of your character.
Decisions made by the player will impact how the story continues,Biomutant’sworld has been struck by a natural disaster as poisonous oil is leaking through the surface and into the Tree of Life. Players are tasked with saving the Tree of Life, but it’s up to you how you go about doing so.
For those that pre-orderBiomutantnow, you will receive the Mercenary class DLC, which includes a unique combination of perks, as well as the full game.
According to theofficial PlayStation website, The Mercenary is a special class loadout playable from start through this DLC only. The Mercenary has dual-wield as a starting ability and is geared up with a classic Katana and the shorter Wakizashi blades to explain it in real-world terms. Simply put, it’ll let you experience the world ofBiomutantas classic samurai looking warrior from the start.

AlthoughBiomutantlooks visually stunning and is already enhanced for PlayStation 4 Pro, many fans want to know if the game will be made available as native PS5 version.
Unfortunately, as of writing, there are no official plans from Experiment 101 to release a native PS5 version ofBiomutant.
However, back in February of 2021, Stefan Ljungqvist spoke toEurogamerand made a hint towards the possibility of a next-gen release forBiomutant. When discussing the development of the game and a possible next-gen version, Ljungqvist said:
“but let’s say that when I got the question ‘will the game be playable on the new consoles?’ I said ‘yes’. So let’s assume that there will be more communication around that soon.”
This interview took place a few months ago now, and still no word on the possible next-gen version ofBiomutant, but it’s clearly on the cards for Experiment 101.
It’s important to note thatBiomutantis still indeed playable on PlayStation 5 consoles. Players will be experiencing the PlayStation 4 version, but according to the official PlayStation Store page forBiomutant:
“To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent.”
