A lot of projects are in line to be released over the next few years by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has opened up the prospects of a lot of old characters returning and even more new characters debuting. This has been perking up fans’ expectations and paving the way for debates on the characters they wish to see, and a new name has been dropped into the mix.

This character currently in the talk that fans are rallying for the MCU to bring back is the same ‘terrifying’ villain that made life a living hell for Jessica Jones until she managed to overcome his thrall. And as much of a villain with minimal to zero megalomaniac tendencies as he is, he really is a force of nature that is too tough to deal with, even for the Avengers: Kilgrave aka The Purple Man.
Kilgrave could pose a real threat to even the Avengers
One of the best villains to be penned down in the MCU,Kilgrave is quite literally scarier than a lot of the other big badsincluding the likes of Kingpin, Thanos, Hella, The Black Order, DocOc, and the rest of the Spider-Man antagonists or the High Revolutionary. To say the least, he might as well be deemed arguably the best diabolical villain ever produced by the MCU.
First seen brought to life byDavid Tennant, he made his debut throughJessica Jonesseason 1. Even though he got seemingly killed in the first season, the traumatic effect he had on the titular character was still so severe that he still served as a recurring antagonist in Jessica’s mind and life through flashbacks and psychological manifestations as a significant part of her ongoing trauma.

This proves that the Purple Man aka Kevin Thompson isn’t quite an easy force to be dealt and reckoned with. A man who ended up with the ability to control people’s minds at his will as a result of his parents’ experiments on him in his childhood to treat a neurodegenerative disease, he is easily the scariest because his harm is interpersonal and dismissive while also indiscriminate.
“Never say never”: David Tennant Is Not Ready To Bid Adieu To the MCU Despite Knowing the ‘Jessica Jones’ Villain is Still “Very Dead”
Throughout his arc, he uses his powers for his personal gain, especially after becoming obsessed and fascinated with Jessica Jones – to the point of falling in love with her and hunting her down when she manages to escape his clutches. In his cruel nature, he tortures Jessica again and again by hurting and killing the people around her, irrespective of whether she knows them or not.
Plus, as Redditorr/marvelstudiosput it,

That said, bringing him back would only be a wise choice.
For one, the mere psychological impact that the character has on his victims, as was perfectly witnessed inKrysten Ritter‘s series, is tremendous enough to have them grasping to get out of his hold. To say the least, he is one who could put up a fair fight against the Avengers as well, and thus, fans are clamoring to have Tennant back as him in the upcoming arcs in the MCU.

Fans want Kilgrave to be brought back to Marvel
As much as he loves playing mind games, the Purple Man is, in fact, one of the finest characters in the entire MCU even with his lack of having any real megalomaniac tendencies. This is why he has been gaining a lot of attention among fans as of late, who are now leaving no stone unturned while thinking about all the things he could do if brought back to the MCU.
Taking to the comment section of the Reddit post, here’s what they have to say:

“He did very much get his neck broken”: Marvel Star Hints Return After Intense Storyline With Krysten Ritter in Jessica Jones
Needless to say, all of these comments make it evident that the respective character’s potential return to the MCU has sparked excitement among fans, who are eager to see the complex, terrifying villain back in action.
WithDavid Tennant’s iconic portrayal and the character’s formidable abilities, Kilgrave could bring a new level of depth and threat to the Avengers, making his return a wise and thrilling choice. What remains to be seen is if the studios decide to take this leap or not.
