Lisa Kudrow was all set to portray the role of Roz Doyle (later portrayed by Peri Gilpin). However, the actor was replaced before the pilot episode could be shot.

In an interview onThe Howard Stern Show(viaUS Magazine), Kudrow revealed that after she found fame with her role inMad About You,she was recommended for the role of Phoebe Buffay inFRIENDS.

I wasn’t right for the part [or] for the chemistry of the group. So that wasn’t working.

AfterFrasier,Kudrow went to auditon for the role of Phoebe Buffay in a series titledFRIENDS.Unfortunately for the actress,Frasierdirector James Burrows was there to audition her… again.
I did it and he [James Burrows] went, ‘No notes’. I left going that either means, ‘She’s beyond help and helpless, just like I always knew,’ or ‘Yeah, it’s perfect. I have no notes.’

Fortunately, it was the latter option for Lisa Kudrow as she was perfect for the role of Phoebe Buffay. The role went to her as she appeared for a total of 235 episodes inFRIENDS.The rest, as we know it, became history.

After being able to rewatchFRIENDS,Lisa Kudrow had quite some remarks about the iconic American sitcom. As the world fell in love with Kudriw’s cute laugh, the actress revealed that there was one aspect of the sitcom that she hated.

In an interview withVariety, Kudrow revealed that she would often get angry at the audience for ruining the timing of a scene because they laughed for too long.

Because they were laughing for too long. It wasn’t that funny. That’s why. It wasn’t an honest response and it irritated me. Now you’re just ruining the timing of the rest of the show.
She further continued,
There are other lines. Sometimes I would just look out if they’d been laughing too long, and go, ‘Come on’. Really angry.
Nonetheless, fans found a way to love the adorable and a little weird Phoebe Buffay in her own way. The iconic show ran for 10 seasons and Lisa Kudrow became a main part of the storyline.
