In the landscape of modern filmmaking, there isn’t a substantial amount of directors that have every single one of the stars of Hollywood want to be featured in one of their films, and Christopher Nolan is by far leading that group of filmmakers with his prestigious legacy in the film industry.

While not everyone can work with him in their lives for obvious reasons, there was a time when actor Nicholas Galitzine had a solid chance to be featured in his three-time Oscar-winning filmDunkirk.
Alas, the star wasn’t able to bag the role that he had been scouted for, which was a complete blunder on his part.

The reason why he couldn’t make the cut was simply that during the reading session with Nolan, the director had picked up a completely different scene from the one that the star had auditioned with in the past and prepared for, which is why he thought he was taken in on the wrong project.

But during the session, he didn’t know that the scene he had previously acted upon during initial auditions was not going to be used in this stage at all.
In fact, the star was read an entirely new scene from the film that hadn’t been used before, just to test the extent of his skills. But at that moment, Galitzine thought that this was some kind of mistake on his team’s part as this wasn’t the scene that he was told to prepare for, which made him feel like he had committed a blunder. He said:

“He starts reading the scene, [but] it’s not the scene that I prepared, I’m just staring at him for what feels like an eternity. And I finally plucked up the courage to say, ‘I’m sorry, Christopher Nolan, you have the wrong scene or I’d just been royally screwed up by my team.’”
