The actor was reportedly dating Kate Moss at the time. Bowen said that she never got to meet him at his club and would meet him only much later in an embarrassing way.

And I didn’t want to get up because they’d got the crackers just right so I just grimaced, thinking, ‘This isn’t how I was meant to meet you…’
