Hugh Hefner’s Wife, Crystal Hefner recently released her memoir,Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,where she went into great detail about what it was like for her being married to the latePlayboyfounder. Being the widow of one of the most successful businessmen of all time, it is surprising that the picture that she is painting of him is less than flattering.
While it is a fact well known by all history books that power and influence lead to corruption and misuse, it never ceases to amaze the world the lengths that people are willing to go it for the sake of worldly pleasures. It would seem that the magazine publisher was no different. It was revealed by his wife that he had secret cameras and peepholes he used to spy on unknowing celebrities who would use his chambers for intimate activities.

Hugh Hefner Had Peepholes In His Room
In her memoir,Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, Crystal Hefner goes into the gory and dark details of her late husband’s life as one of the most sought-after men of the 20th century, shedding light on the ugliest corners of thePlayboyMansion. What she has disclosed has caused outrage and shown more abhorrent sides of his life than what was already public knowledge. What is overwhelming in the news, however, is her reveal of what secrets lay in Hefner’s bedroom, and it would unsettle more than a few celebrities who frequented his houses.
“I think [the cameras] were out of commission by the time I got there, but there . . . were these carved wood panels. And one of the panels on the right had a circular cutout,” I asked. “But what are they for?”
“I used to do a lot of filming,” he said proudly. “VHS. I had hours of video, hundreds of sexy tapes.”
She confessed to finding peepholes drilled into the foot of his bed, which had evidence of recording the activities that took place in the room. One of the most integral parts of the‘Playboylifestyle’ was the constant, explicit partying. When the businessman was asked about it, he told his wife that he used these spy cameras to creep and record the guests who would spend time in his home.

Hugh Hefner Would Spy On Powerful Celebrities Without Their Consent
These parties that were hosted at thePlayboyMansions, often, had guests full of some of the biggest names in Hollywood. It would not be far-fetched to assume that these tapes also featured some A-list celebrities. When Crystal Hefner asked Hugh Hefner if these people he was filming were aware of the voyeuristic practice they were partaking in, he did not give her a satisfactory enough answer. She was told that since they were guests in his house, he could do as he pleased.
He told her that he had“A-list celebrities”on tape, as well as“videos of wild orgies, also with celebrities and politicians and business leaders, some of whom were married,”she wrote.
This sort of thinking and sense of entitlement was something that Hefner had a reputation for, having crossed paths with some of the finest from the film industry in the most negative of ways. He also told her that the footage he had did not only have actors, but also politicians, and business leaders, who were often married to other people.
