In recent times, most people might know him for his depiction of Soldier Boy in the iconic Prime Video seriesThe Boys, but it’s not as if Jensen Ackles has been new in the sci-fi and fantasy genre of entertainment. In fact, before he ever became the widely-known superhero in the series, he was famous for playing the role of Dean Winchester in the hit drama seriesSupernatural.
And it’s not as if Soldier Boy was the only superhero role he was interested in as recently, the star opened up about how he was once offered to play the role of Hawkeye in the MCU as well as Deadpool in the original 20th Century Fox production. He revealed that he had a pretty good chance to bag that role, but the situation is what stopped him.

But before he was ever considered for this character, the star claims that he had a serious shot at being a part of the MCU from the very beginning. In a recent panel at theSPNPHX J2convention, the star revealed he once was being considered to play the role of Hawkeye in the MCU, which eventually went to actorJeremy Rennersince he had a busy schedule withSupernatural.
But along with that, later in his career, he was also offered to audition for the role of Deadpool, which was then produced by 20th Century Fox. He claimed that this time as well he was busy shooting for his drama series, which is the main reason why he couldn’t commit to this role at the same time, although he had a very good shot at it. During the panel, he said:
“There was definitely a movie that I was very much in talks about… I wasn’t available, so the train just kind of stopped there. But, had I been available, I would’ve had to, you know, jump through the studio hoops and jump through the, you know, producer hoops and stuff. But I had a really good shot, and it’s a movie that I really, really like. [What was the movie?] Deadpool.”
