Hugo Weavingain’t eager to return to Middle-Earth anytime soon. TheLord of the Ringsstar, famous for his role as Elrond, admitted he hasn’t watchedThe Rings of Powerand doesn’t plan to. When asked about the actor portraying a younger Elrond in the Amazon prequel, Weaving confessed toRadio Times:
I haven’t seen it, and apologies to Robert. No, I spent too long in Middle-earth, and I don’t particularly want to go back there. I love New Zealand, I recently went back to New Zealand.
Weaving’s stint as Elrond in Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth saga spanned over a decade, appearing in five of the six films. Despite the fans’ admiration, Weaving doesn’t hold his role in the same high regard. He mentioned,
