Jason Batemanand Amanda Anka knew each other for a decade before they started dating, and believe it was their friendship that helped their romance to last longer. They met in the mid 1980s, at 18 years old but started dating after a decade, and tied the knot in 2001.Even though he married his childhood friend, his lifestyle did not change and at one point in their married life, she was frustrated with him to the point, where she gave him an ultimatum.
During an exclusive interview with Details magazine viaAccess, he shared how alcohol and drugs are as addictive as“ketchup and French fries,”and his wife left the town after giving the ultimatum, which forced him to go to Alcoholics Anonymous.

I was never at a place where rehab would have been appropriate. Booze was what would make me want to stay out all night and do some blow or smoke a joint or whatever, so shutting that off was key. It’s like ketchup and French fries — I don’t want one without the other. So that’s the moment: Do you want to continue being great at being in your twenties, or do you want to step up and graduate into adulthood?”
