A lot of stars train their body in certain ways to perfect their physique for the portrayal of their characters in series and movies. TheIron Clawstar, Stanley Simons also once revealed in an interview how he trained for his role in the biographical movie but instead of training his complete physique for the role, Simons just went on to learn this signature move of the Von Erich wrestling family, the ‘Iron Claw’which he did not even need to use in the movie’

Stanley Simons talks about learning the signature move of the Von Erich family inIron Claw

Stanley Simons first made his acting debut back in 2019 when he portrayed the role of Connor in the drama movie,Angelfish. In the movie,Iron Claw, Simons portrayed the role of Mike Von Erich, the younger brother ofZac Efron‘s character, Kevin Von Erich. Mike initially wanted to be a musician but as the tragedy continued befalling his wrestler brothers, he was forced by Kevin to become a wrestler as well and he later ended up taking his own life in the movie.

Once in an interview withInterview Magazine, Stanley Simons opened up about Von Erich’s signature move, Iron Claw which was even used in the movie by Zac Effron’s character. Simons said,

“What I’ve come to understand is that most wrestlers, if they’re big, have signature moves. The Von Erich’s was just your hand squeezing the shit out of someone’s head. Hurts, I guess, really bad. I didn’t do it in the movie, but I definitely did it. Harris [Dickinson] did it the best, he was very dynamic with it.”

The Australian actor even further talked about filming wrestling scenes in the movie.

Stanley Simons also talked about how the wrestling scenes were filmed for the movieIron Claw. There was a script and choreography for the fights and they did it ‘like a play‘. Although Simons only had 2 scenes of wrestling in the entire movie, the actor revealed that he was not terrified of wrestling as such but he was definitely terrified of filming the scenes because of the outfits. He said,

“No, but the first time being in my undies in front of a bunch of people and the whole crew was a little terrifying.”

Iron Clawgrossed almost $32 million against a production budget of $16 million. Although the movie was not a major commercial success at the box, it was still a massive critical success as it largely received positive reviews from fans and critics.
