Whenever the discussion about peak anime and manga series comes up, the one name that is always on the top list isHunter x Hunter. Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, the story revolves around the world of Hunters where a young boy named Gon Freecss is on a journey to find his famous Hunter Father.

It truly is one of the best anime series out there, but the only problem is that the series is still incomplete even though it was released 26 years ago. The anime follows the story till the Election arc, but the manga has gone forward with the Succession Contest arc that is far from over. And the reason behind the story extending for so long is Togashi’s continuous hiatus because of his health issues.
Along with being one of the greatest series of all time,Hunter x Hunteris also the only series with the longest hiatus. Although the Succession Contest arc started in 2011, it was left in between because of the hiatus. However, it does not change the fact that it is one of the best storylines of the series, and fans are ready to do anything for Togashi to continue with the story.

The Constant Delays inHunter x Hunter
Hunter x Hunteroriginally started in 1998 and currently has 38 volumes. The story as of yet has seven arcs. However, the anime series started in 2011 and has over 148 episodes. It was the second anime adaptation ofHunter x Hunter, with the first being released in 2002. The anime followed the story till the Election arc and is yet to give any information about adapting the Succession Contest arc.
Hunter x Hunter Theory is Such a Morbid Twist It’ll Dwarf One Piece Ending If True
One of the main reasons behind this is that the succession contest is still incomplete even after 13 years. The arc has over 60 chapters and is far from being finished. These delays are caused byYoshihiro Togashi’schronic back pain, which not only affects his work routine but has also caused hindrances in his daily life. This is why Togashi has taken multiple hiatus, which sometimes expand over many years.
Togashi is determined to makeHunter x Hunterone of the best series out there. Thus, he makes sure that every chapter or episode of the series is of the best quality in every aspect, be it the narrative or the characters. But his health issues affect the quality of his work, which is why he prefers taking a break rather than publishing average chapters.

Hunter x HunterFans Are Getting Desperate
Although Togashi’s breaks considering his health issues are understandable,Hunter x Hunterfans cannot keep themselves away from such a peak series for much longer. This has especially increased since the Succession Contest arc started, as it isone of the greatest storylinesof the entire series.
A similar instance was seen recently when a fan named u/DonDrip after completing the anime series shifted to manga and got enticed by the narrative of the Succession Contest arc.

The fan got so addicted to the story that he demanded Togashi to continue writingHunter x Hunter, and in return, he is willing to provide every kind of help for the manga creator’s health issues.
Only 6 Hunter x Hunter Manga Panels are Enough to Show Yoshihiro Togashi is Kentaro Miura’s True Rival
This in itself proves how thrilling the upcoming plot ofHunter x Hunteris going to be, as the story still has a long way to go. While Togashi has startedworking on the series once again, fans can only hope that he will continue this time and bring the Succession Contest arc andHunter x Hunterto conclusion this time.
