Like any other Soulslike game, the Blacksmith is crucial inThe First Berserker: Khazan.Unlike other Souls games, though, the Blacksmith doesn’t upgrade weapons and armor. Instead, he allows players to craft various gear and items.
Before players can utilize the Blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan, they must first unlock him. Surprisingly, this doesn’t happen until about 6 hours into the game.

10 Most Unfair Soulsborne Boss Fights
These fights are frustrating for all the worst possible reasons.
In this guide, we explain how to unlock the Blacksmith inThe First Berserker: Khazan. This guide will also detail all the benefits the Blacksmith provides.
How to Unlock the Blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan
Players can unlock the Blacksmith inThe First Berserker: Khazanbycompleting the fifth main mission, “The Strange Smell.”
Afterdefeating the bossfor The Strange Smell mission,Aratra, the Blacksmith will appear at the Crevice. You can find himon the bottom floor in the Human Realm.

Unique mechanics to differentiate unique bosses.
Even though the Blacksmith appears at the Crevice after defeatingAratra, he’s still not available to use. Instead, he wants you first tofind his hammerso he can get back to work. Accept to help and this will begin the “Blacksmith’s Heirloom” mission.
How to Find the Blacksmith’s Hammer
Accepting the Blacksmith’s Heirloom mission will create a new location on the Charnak Mountain Range portal. The location is calledSpider’s Tomb, so go ahead and select the option to teleport there.
The Blacksmith’s Heirloom mission is rather short, and the Spider’s Tomb location is very small. The bottom line is that you have to defeat the main boss of the area, Bearius, and you’ll receive the Blacksmith’s Hammer as a reward.

Luckily, there are no confusing pathways or any way to get lost in the Spider’s Tomb. It’s a very linear level, where you have to defeat a handful of enemies until you reach the boss gate.
How to Beat Bearius
Bearius is a challenging boss, but not even close to themain bosses of the game. Up to this point in the game, you should have fought a few bearson your journey, and Bearius pretty much hasthe same exact movesets as the standard bear enemy types.
Bearius likes toswing with his claws, which can all be guarded, and thenlunge attack with a bite. While the bite attacks can be guarded as well, I recommend dodging them since the dodge has a quicker animation.

One of the most frustrating attacks Bearius has is when he lays down and lunges with his back toward the player. This can be really hard to read due to how quickly it happens, so I recommend holding the guard button whenever Bearius lays down (instead of trying to time a perfect counter).
10 Hardest Games That Aren’t Soulslike
There are other ways to suffer the frustration of dying 1000 times in the same spot.
If you find yourself struggling to defeat Bearius, go ahead anduse as many throwables as you havefrom afar to drain his health. This way, he has less health when you go in to attack. The javelin is great for this same purpose as well.

After defeating Bearius, players will be rewarded with the Blacksmith’s Hammerand the Blacksmith’s Heirloom quest will be complete. Now, return to the Crevice and return the hammer to the Blacksmith.
How to Use the Blacksmith
The Blacksmith allows players tocraft individual gear pieces, such asweapons and armor pieces, as well as craft complete sets. To craft armor sets, playersneed to find armor set scrollson their travels. Many armor sets have massive stat bonuses if you wear the complete set, so this can be a huge asset for your journey.
Additionally, players can craft consumables, such as Enhancers, Potions, Fuel, etc. Considering the bosses continuously get harder the further you progress in The First Berserker: Khazan, having a way to get consumables can make a massive difference.
Similar to armor-set scrolls, players need tofind recipes for consumablesin the game’s various levels to unlock the item for crafting at the Blacksmith.
